Папа Римський погодився з відставкою кардинала Гузара

10 лютого Папа Римський Бенедикт XVI може офіційно оголосити про відставку Глави Української Греко-Католицької Церкви (УГКЦ) кардинала Любомира Гузара.

Офіційна причина відставки – поважний вік Його Блаженства. Про це Тижню повідомили джерело близьке до керівництва УГКЦ.

Ще 2001 року, ставши на чолі УГКЦ, Любомира Гузар заявив, що після досягнення 75 років, залишає за собою право піти у відставку, не відмовляючись від опіки Церквою. Оскільки, за словами кардинала, «старша людина уповільнює розвиток Церкви».
